Who can apply:
The Rutgers Pre-College Summer Academies are designed for international and U.S. high school (secondary school) juniors and seniors ages 16-18.
◾Minimum 3.0 grade point average
◾English language proficiency
◾Prior coursework in pre-calculus and physics is recommended for the Pre-Engineering and iSTEM Academies
Those who are eligible may apply December 15 - May 31.
Choose from three intensive one-week residential certificate programs focused on engineering, STEM, and Leadership:
Pre-Engineering Summer Academy | (July 9 - 15)
Learn about aerospace, biochemical, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, forensic, industrial, material science, mechanical and systems engineering through an integrated program of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on projects, tours, and field trips. Learn more.
iSTEM Summer Academy | (July 16 - 22)
Select a global environmental challenge to address during this interdisciplinary, problem-based program of STEM lectures, individual research, hands-on group projects, faculty coaching, field trips, and guest speakers. The academy ends with student presentations of proposed environmental solutions at the final certificate ceremony. Learn more.
Leadership Summer Academy | (July 23 - 29)
Assess your own leadership style through a 360-degree assessment and carefully calibrated experiential exercises. Learn about the practices and ethics of leaders in a wide range of spheres through integrated lectures, interviews, field trips, and engaging in-class activities. Final student presentations address individual leadership development and applications. Learn more.
Mid-year graduation ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, February 1st at 4:30 p.m. at Bojangles’ Coliseum. Please plan to arrive no later than 3:00pm completely dressed for the ceremony.
Student Leaders® recognizes those who lead and serve in their own communities and beyond. Bank of America will connect Student Leaders to tools and resources that will help them make communities better.
As a Student Leader, you will:
•Work as a paid intern at a local nonprofit
for eight weeks
•Attend the week-long Student Leaders
Summit in Washington, D.C.
